Hey everyone,
I was going through my mother’s cookbook and came across this recipe for a slow cooker. I love using slow cookers because they are so easy and make amazing meals. Step outside the box and use our Black River Roasters coffee in this recipe!
What you will need:
4 lb beef chuck roast
5 cloves of garlic
1 1/2 c. hot brewed Black River Roasters coffee
1/2 c. cold water
2 T. cornstarch

Instructions
Using a sharp knife, make 5 deep slits around top and side of roast. Push the whole cloves of garlic into slits.
Push roast in a slow cooker; pour coffee over top.
Cover and cook on low setting for 6 to 8 hours.
Remove from slow cooker; pour juices into a small saucepan over medium heat.
In a small bowl, combine water and cornstarch; mix well.
Slowly add to juices, stirring constantly.
Simmer until thickened, about 3 to 5 minutes, and spoon over servings.
Serves 4 to 6.
Coffee adds a unique flavor to any traditional recipe. To add even extra zest to this recipe, rub the roast with minced garlic and sprinkle with onion powder.
Enjoy!
Ashley
